I would like to say something.
I feel horrible that this contest was treated with less respect than others. I share (almost) all of your dissatisfaction.
I will not comment on the overall quality of soundtracks, because I personally listened to most of them and while some were less than impressive in my own humble opinion, some others were excellent. But it’s a personal choice. This isn’t mathematics. It’s all about taste and opinion. That’s what makes contests like these controversial. Some people love Picasso, some hate him.
I love a saying that’s used in America a lot, and I apologize ahead of time for its “French” so-to-speak, but it goes like this:
“Opinions are like assholes. Everybody’s got one.”
But what was unfair is that there weren’t enough opinions. This is a fact.
So, what to do, right? That’s the tricky part.
The contest is done. The hash is in. This is a blockchain and everything on it cannot be turned around. There’s a smart contract and it did its job without prejudice. And that’s how it has to be in a decentralized society. Bitching and complaining is like praying for rain. There’s fair and then there’s just. Justice is not always fair, especially in this case.
So then, I suggest the following:
-
The results are the results, grim as they may be. We deal with it like adults, which is to say we swallow the hard pill. It gets paid out as is. It is done.
-
Run the contest again, only this time use subgovernances with members who are actually in tune (get it, tune? ) with the subject of the contest and form a jury of interested jurors. Plus get their feedback on this forum beforehand as well.
-
Running the contest again has some nuances… I guess it’s important to highlight that Free TON is rebranding. Maybe this new contest can be the launchpad to shoot out the new brand name? Eh? Huh? Just thinking out loud here. I see that being a very nice launchpad for the new name, whatever it ends up being.
And then we go from there.
I know some are wounded. I know some are angry. I know others are happy. I know some are sad. I know some want to buy a shotgun And everything in between.
What I am asking for is understanding. We are all human, and as such, we are imperfect by nature. Suffice it to say, shit happens. And it happened this time.
I am calling for everyone to please cease the anger and vitriol, and instead to understand that community = trial-and-error. This is the nature of community. There are no corporations or decision makers. There are people. People are inherently flawed. This is SMV – those who want to participate, participate. Those who don’t, don’t. And we have no right – any of us – to insist. We have a right, nay, a DUTY to progress and grow. The more of us, the better the result.
We are building a new world with many people who have many opinions, and without a government to tell us what to do. These are steps in that direction. Every step is a gamble. Sometimes you step up, sometimes you step into shit That’s life without dictatorship. But it’s worth it.
I hope at least some of you will find my comment helpful.
Thank you all for your hard work and submissions. You are all valuable and you all deserve respect for participating.
I hope that at the very least you all understand that this was yet another in a series of exercises in best practices and community building. This is how worlds are built.

Thank you all for your efforts!
