🧮 Contest for the development of the best mathematical model for the distribution of rewards in future Contest

20/10/6/1.5
let there be a small gift for 3rd place (+ 1k)

Hello. I would like to describe in more detail the essence of the problem and why the current situation does not suit.

I would add the existing prize distribution challenges that we face to the contest description. And also emphasize that the mathematical model should solve the below listed problems and provide answers to the following questions

Sorry, but at this stage it looks like a contest “for friends”. Can you tell us more about the issue and what exactly you expect to see as a result?

And why there is such a difference in prizes between 1st and 2nd place. And between the others? Is there already a hidden candidate for first place?)

to be honest, I didn’t know what to write in the “Rewards” section and just copied from the previous contests, decreasing in proportion

suggest how you see the distribution, and we can easily change

Hello, added more details to the description of the current problem.

It’s a little funny that even in the discussion of this competition the same problem arose

DGO Sub-governence?

Это надо @Mitja спросить

I think its a contest for DGO, yes. I also think it needs some more work but the general idea to algorythmize everything is good (I like it at least))

Cool, i think i will try to participate even though i doubt my skills will carry far, but one can try i suppose. And i am guessing that there isn’t any current model or existing guidelines applied in past proposals?

Total Prize Fund of a specific contest can be fairly distributed to all participants directly proportionate to their average ratings.
Rejected submissions gets nothing means also have resistance to unfair activities.

currently contest prize distributions are just like a lottery prizes results discouraging average users to participate in contests.

So we need a more fair model for prize distribution so that total prize fund can be distributed among more users. Free TON community’s main motto is also to achieve decentralization in a more distributed way.

Yes, now there is no model, a discrete table is used, based on the predictions of the creator of the competition
Whether it is worth talking about the effectiveness of the system based on predictions, it always or more or insufficiently rewards the participants

You express the idea very accurately, can I use it in the description of the contest?

Sure, you can use it in description of contest as well.
I also noted that some current contests proposed same type of reward distribution with a difficulty level but they haven’t fixed the prize pool for the contest and would decided after voting on submissions.
So i think total fund for a contest should be predetermined

I think soon or late the whole process will be united into one automated work-flow: proposal -> approval -> voting -> rewarding. Each step with a smart-contract behind it just triggers the next one passing all the arguments and results returned by previous steps forward.

I totally agree that the current reward system has a number of disadvantages. Under normal circumstances, where no one is pursuing global reach, it is acceptable. But if you target millions of users and simultaneously cut 99% of them from the system, then we will never grow. They try and try and try, but the reward ends up going to 1% of talented people or people with special skills (it doesn’t matter how often I’ll play chess with Kasparov, the result will be unchanged). So what’s the problem? This is absolutely logical and honest, you say. The problem is those other 99% who, realizing that they have no chance, despite enormous effort has been invested, leave the project. Let them go, you say. New ones will come and take their place. But this will not change the alignment. And these will go away. And they will never call their friends. Friends, among whom there may be talents. So this is a paradox - we want to grow and we ourselves prevent this.

In most cases we reward result oriented. But we should take both in account: result and effort.

That may change back to pure meritocratic model as soon as critical mass of users is reached.

Good idea for a competition. There are thoughts that I would share in this competition.
