DGO (Decentralized Governance Organization) Jury Contest - Second Part

Short description

This is the second part of the contest to be run by the Free TON DGO sub-governance in order to select a qualified jury to score contests and provide feedback for each score. This jury will be limited to vote only for the work executed within the DGO sub-governance.

Type

Contest

Contest entry period

Starts: 11 November 2020. Ends: 15 November 2020 based on the contest timestamp with a 24-hour countdown clock to take effect on the last day of voting.

Voting cycle

3 days

Goal

The goal of the contest is to attract professionals that will be motivated to enhance the Free TON ecosystem by participating in the Free TON Decentralized Governance Organization (DGO). In order to achieve this goal, we need an additional 10 jurors to add to the existing initial members who can vote.

Contest submission requirements

Applicants must provide a curriculum vitae that demonstrates the following:

  • Knowledge of IT and/or blockchain technologies
  • Proof of solid understanding of decentralized governance
  • List of companies you worked for and/or are currently employed by
  • Social network identity (Telegram ID, LinkedIn ID, Github ID)

Winner rights and duties

Winners will get the right to be a juror for each Free TON contest going forward and get the same reward as each contest describes for jurors. In order to get the jury reward described in each contest, the juror must do the following:

  1. Each juror should review each contest and its requirements here under “Contests”.

  2. The juror should review each contestant’s submission and determine if each submission is within the scope of his or her understanding to judge it, and then vote as follows:

  3. If outside of juror competence, the juror should vote to “Abstain”.

  4. If within juror competence, the juror should vote on a scale of 1-to-10 with 1 representing least and 10 representing most qualified submissions.

  5. If the submission is inappropriate, the PDF file is unopenable or corrupt, etc., the juror should vote not to score at all.

  6. The juror should provide constructive feedback in the appropriate field describing the reason for their score.

As any civic duty dictates, every juror must remain objective to the best of his/her abilities in regard to voting, i.e., stick to the facts and the facts only, leaving any personal feelings aside.

Jury members cannot judge submissions from themselves, organizations they belong to/companies they work for. It’s the responsibility of the Free TON DGO Jury members to declare their affiliation and withdraw from voting. This reason constitutes a valid excuse not to participate in voting in such a contest.

If a member of the jury does not score and provide feedback to 3 or more contests in which they did not participate, the members can draft a proposal to remove such a juror by a vote from the initial members.

Procedural remarks

Participants must correctly upload their applications to the Free TON DGO Jury contest (in PDF format) in order for the jurors to view them. If the application can’t be opened or is submitted in the wrong format, the candidate will be rejected by the jury.

Participants must submit their applications before the deadline of the contest. If the application is submitted late, it will be rejected.

All submissions must include the contestant’s social network identity, such as a Telegram ID, LinkedIn ID or Github ID by which jurors can verify that the submission belongs to the individual who submitted it. If not, the submission may be rejected.

Any juror may contact any contestant via Telegram in order to ask questions or ask for clarity of submissions. Failure to respond or answer questions can affect the score.

Dear members of the FreeTON community,

I would hereby like to apply as a jury member for the Decentralized Governance
Organization.

I have a background in computer science, cognitive science, and economics. Regarding my
activities in the crypto space, I specialized in game theory, decentralized business models,
and tokenomics.

In the past, I have worked on constructing tokenomic models for Kiziband, a decentralized
movie funding project, and a-Qube, a decentralized idea incubator. Together with two other
team members from a-Qube, we have later tried to found a consulting agency (MRA Crypto)
for decentralized business models, but this project unfortunately never came into existence.

We did however organize an online learning course amongst ourselves. A modified version
of my final thesis for the course ultimately became one of the winning submissions in the
Airdrop Mechanics contest.

Best regards,

Hello!

I want to try to participate in the contest. Unfortunately, I have no technical education. But I work as an HR specialist, I have many friends of programmers. If suddenly I will have difficulty with technical questions, there is always an opportunity to address them. My main feature is honesty. I think this is very important for the judge !

Hi! My name is Anastasia.

I am the member of Free TON community since the launch of the network. From that time I follow all news and changes. I participated in contests - shared the first place in Idea Management System Contest with another member of the community.

Now I work in Free TON Wiki as an administrative support and user support. We try our best to govern it in decentralised way by making all important decisions with off-chain polls and on-chain contests. It’s a difficult process and we are still learning. Applying for a jury member of DGO SG I want to be in touch with newest ideas for governance to apply best practices in our SG.

I know all duties of the jury member and take it with all responsibility. My philosophy is good relationships, justice, hard work, problem solving and creating better future for everyone.

I hope my work will be helpful for DGO Subgovernance and for all Free TON community in general.
