Team, a group of community members have been thinking about a virtual super ambassador / hero / community voice of Free TON. Wanted to bring the discussion to this large talented group of people to further steer the discussion. Background and Objectives
Virtual (non-existent) characters have been quickly gaining traction as a growing phenomena. There are virtual spiritual gurus, virtual models, revitalized virtual celebrities etc. out there. To get some early ideas we’ve been talking to a Los Angeles based agency AIKONS that is specializing on this. They could become a partner should we decide to pursue this route.
Free TON is not supposed to have one (human) leader or one main spokesperson as then it is somewhat centralized approach. However, a non-existent virtual persona could be a “cumulative voice of the Free TON community”. Community could discuss, choose (if needed vote) on the direction that this virtual hero is talking, on his/her/its position on certain subjects etc. Open Questions
Whether it’s a good idea and, if yes, clarifying objectives and overall vision
Drafting some inputs into the scope of work required for the agency to deliver
Creative ideas on a name (some people were suggesting Fred Toner or Fred Ton) and type of character.
Should we consider doing a contest on this among the community (name, character, key personality traits, key first statements etc.)?
I see it as some sort of “virtual Satoshi”. An animated character that does the will of the people, like some sort of virtual superhero. I love the idea! It could really work and also create a sort of brand icon that is associated with Free TON, and one that is “programmable” based on community developments. For instance, contest rewards go out and the character reacts. A new partnership is formed with the network, the character reacts. And so on. Frigging cool man!
I picture an animated character not unlike Iron Man (I don’t know, just thinking out loud) with crystals somewhere, like maybe the eyes or something? It has powers fueled by tokens. Etc.
I think it’s a good idea, will be our free speeacher :-)). Discussion will be very interesting. Our dear (Fred TonOS?) will be a singular idea, quite good for a community driven environment. Big up
Good idea, virtual characters are becoming closer to mainstream these days. I think it would be a good idea to organize a contest, choose a winner and then give it to one of the best profile agencies for fine-tuning.
May be we should deploy a contest on character sketch? It could be a nice thing, the winning versions could be forwarded to the agency picked for the task.
Contest for a name? Not sure, but may be it could be also a good thing. Name + a small background story.
