100k real users in a year from a single collaboration is more then good result. Moreover it is loyal audience and not familiar with crypto. So the first crypto project they use/study will be TON - not btc or eth. Thats huge advantage

Приложение с 1.5 миллионов активной аудитории 100% привлечет много новых пользователей в крипту и в FreeTON в частности. Все проекты борятся за юзеров, строят комьюнити и тратят миллионы на маркетологов для этого…а тут одно партнерство и +100 000 пользователей в течении года.

Education staff should be spotless and explain all TON advantages properly. As long as it will be new audience, not familiar with crypto - it is critical to hire someone who would make a proper educational content. Otherwise it wont bring much audience to FreeTON

After submitting our proposal, apart from generally positive feedback, I received a couple of requests from respected members of the FreeTON community, including Mr. Ron Millow, to reduce the amount of requested tokens to cover the costs of integration. To address these concerns I decided to make a separate post so that community members better understand our costs and risks associated with this partnership.
Firstly, let me point out that the costs of integration in our case is not just the salary of designers, front and back-end developers, and testers who will work on technical integration. The largest part of our expenses is attributed to customer support and maintenance: every day we receive over 1,000 (!) feedbacks from users who send us emails, comments and rate our apps on Google play and Apple Store. Just think about this number for a second. If anything goes wrong with user wallets or currency balances we easily might get hundreds of thousands complaints or questions so that we need to manage these issues well. If everything goes smoothly, taking into account that every day more than 20,000 new people download our app, we still expect to receive over 100,000 questions regarding TON crystals from our users: “How can I use it?”, “What is this?” etc.
Secondly, apart from technical and maintenance costs, our company will incur significant legal costs (I estimate it way over $200,000) which we will cover from our own reserves. First, our app has significant presence in countries which are not friendly to cryptocurrencies and we need to work around legal issues to avoid bans by AppStore and Google play. This includes changing our user agreements, using new legal entities, and possible, obtaining money business licensees in several jurisdictions. Another vital issue is a proper communication with Apple and Google to defend our cryptocurrency use case, especially for allowing cryptocurrency payments. As you know, even large multinational companies such as Epic Games have their apps recently removed from AppStore for incorporating other payment methods. Overall, these legal risks are the most significant for us and we are going to address those in a professional way because we strongly believe in the value that blockchain technology can bring to millions of families.
Thirdly, by integrating FreeTON and using TON Crystals for payments we will need to increase our accounting and tax reporting costs. Our legal entity is incorporated in Hong Kong, where legislation is particularly strict to companies operating with cryptocurrencies. Any operations and payments for physical goods with cryptocurrencies will require additional reporting and, perhaps, even auditing.
Fourthly, when submitting our proposal we take into account our costs measured in US dollars. However, the token request is made in TON Crystals, which still in its early price-discovery stage. In other words, there is no real price for it. Sadly, over the last month the token price dropped significantly, and if this trend continues the value of tokens we requested won’t even cover the salary of 4-5 core engineers who will be working on this project. Moreover, due to low liquidity using TON Crystals to pay employees’ salary is not a easy task, so our company is taking an enormous financial risk.
Finally, I think that focusing on how to “save” a few thousands of tokens on a promising partnership is NOT what can make FreeTON successful. There is only one thing that can drive the token’s price up in the long run. Only one - mass adoption. Real use case. Real users. Real benefits. Not no-name partners, paid marketing articles, “dead” apps with 10,000 paid downloads.
How many blockchain apps are out there with millions of users? MetaMask, Brave, a few exchange apps. That’s it. So, I would rather propose to focus on how make millions expect mothers and young parents use FreeTON in their daily lives. We have millions of users to educate, so let’s give them good reasons why they should learn. We have large corporate partners like P&G, Bayer, KimberlyClark – so let’s try some pilot projects. The proposed partnership is not about making “a quick technical integration”. We will have to try many new things, battle many fights, and make many mistakes. But, eventually, we will succeed.
Just one question - as far as I know, both Google Play and App Store restrict any external payment methods in the apps listed on these platforms as they take 30% of all the payments. Did something change in this model?
If no, please, exaplain - how are you going to integrate TONs in yuor app while this activity is forbidden by the shops?
It’s done on case-by-case basis. In our app we already got some cases approved. For example, users can earn BabyCash and spend Babycash on certain goods and services.
The question is about having in-app purchases via TON. Not virtual tokens or something.

Regarding examples of having purchases via TON, please, ask TON community. TON is just 5 months old, so I personally doubt it.
If we use TON in our app we have 2 choices: offer purchases directly for TON or offer to change TON for BabyCash and use BabyCash for purchases. In every case, such transaction will generate volume for TON.

Ok, well, this is not what I expected. I can make a table like this too and make it $1M. Why not? I do not believe this is justified. I know you tried. I know you did your best to present your case. But in the end logic must prevail. Results then money. A simple first-step integration can be done for 20K. That’s just a fact. My position is no. I’ll let others talk.
Okay. Thank you for your time and the AMAs, etc. I think it’s pretty clear now that Free TON cannot work under these terms. If you decide it’s worth it, please come back with an integration offer under 20K TONs for first results up front and we’ll reinvigorate the community to give it a shot. We’re looking for monster use cases where the exchange of value is equal. At this point I personally feel you undervalue what Free TON brings. Nothing personal.
FYI – once Free TON does demonstrate its capabilities, I feel very strongly that you will look at this potential opportunity in hindsight as a missed opportunity.
Please reconsider your upfront ask to a value that is reasonable. At the moment I think most people realize it is not.
