About the selection of new Wiki Subgovernance members
We decided to hold a Zoom video meeting for Membership candidates. The use of a webcam is obligatory for all candidates. We ask you to prepare an answer to the question: “In your opinion, what can be improved in Wiki Subgovernance and how?”
A conference for English-speaking candidates will be on Tuesday.

2020 is coming to an end. This year was not quite successful for some people, but not for our community - on June 30, 2020, Free TON Wiki was born!
Wiki Subgovernance has managed to realize impressive achievements in a short time. Let’s go through the highlights:
87 users, completed Wiki Application Form, were registered
18 languages and 847 articles were added
five Wiki Renewal Contests were completed. In four of them, the total amount of rewards was 129 524 TON, rewards for the fifth contest are expected soon. The updated public report of Wiki Subgovernance is available on the forum and in this spreadsheet
three AMA sessions were held
a migration to the mediawiki engine was carried out
new Wiki Members were recruited
a new rates, machine translation check, and rules of articles approval were introduced
Thank you to all our contributors who helped develop Free TON Wiki. Only by cooperative efforts have we been able to accomplish these striking results.

About rates and rewards changing in Wiki Subgovernance
Yesterday (03.02.2020) Wiki Members made two important decisions in changing the rates and rewards in Wiki Subgovernance.
■ Rewriting rate has been eliminated (submissions with this type of work will be rejected by the judges in future contests). Additionally, Copywriting rate was renamed to Content creation in order to more accurately match the type of work being performed. Learn more
■ Fair Reward Ratio (FRR) has been introduced in order to offer community members a reward that considers their contribution and real market value of TON Crystal.
FRR is a numerical factor that can be applied to the just completed WRC to offset changes in the TON Crystal exchange rate (rates and rewards were previously accepted according to the rate of 1 TON Crystal = 1 USD).
The FRR value is set in a separate FRR Setup Proposal after the end of the WRC and before the end of the contest voting.
If the FRR Setup Proposal is not accepted within the specified period, then it is not effective and the amount of rewards in the WRC remains unchanged. If the FRR Setup Proposal has been accepted, then the WRC rewards must be multiplied by the FRR factor immediately before the WRC rewards are paid (rounding of the
calculated values obtained is allowed for technical simplification of payments).
FRR Setup Proposal is a single-use proposal, which must be taken separately for each WRC. When preparing the FRR Setup Proposal, Wiki Members should be guided by the actual market value of TON Crystal (in case of exceeding the estimated cost of TON Crystal by more than 20%, such a proposal is automatically invalidated). On 8 February, a proposal to change the organization of Wiki Renewal Contest was accepted. WRC will last until 28.02.2021 23: 59 UTC . It includes many new requirements. Let’s go through the main ones:
■ The principle of "One submission - one Wiki URL"
Now a submission can contain only one link to the Wiki material (Wiki URL) with the type of work “Content creation” or “Translation”. If a contestant send a submission with several Wiki URL at the same time, the judges will reject it.
New recommendations for “Content creation” or “Translation” submissions (these points are optional, however, failure to follow them may lead to "Reject"):
Send your submission no later than 5 days before the end of the contest.
Translate only approved articles.
Pay attention to the results of the preliminary review and correct your material according to the comments. Send the corrected application no later than 48 hours before the end of the contest.
■ The reward limit for all submissions of one contestant - 5000 TON.
The jury also have new requirements:
The judge must reject the submission if it does not meet the mandatory requirements of the contest.
The judge must provide a unique comment for each submission. It should be an exhaustive (no shorter than 3 words) review, leaving no doubt that the judge has read the submission.
If there are 3 or more votes with the same comment, the judge will not receive any reward for these votes. If there are 5 or more votes with the same comment, the judge will not receive any reward for this contest.
Jury votes that do not meet the above requirements will not be paid.
■ The amount of the jury’s reward, which is not subject to change through the FRR, is 4000 TON. It will be distributed among all judges’ votes that meet requirements.

Submission period for "Content creation"or “Translation” ends on 23.02.2021, 23.59 UTC.
For all other types of work - on 28.02.2021, 23.59 UTC.
Now the authors have more time to send submissions and we recommend to use this time wisely:
Send your submissions earlier in order to receive comments from the review editors and, if necessary, correct the material and send it again. It will help to prevent situations when the author does not have time to correct the work due to the end of the contest and the judges can give a Reject.
Before sending your submission, don’t forget to tag @anesthesia_v in the work chat - she will count the number of characters and check the level of work.
Follow the principle of "One submission - one Wiki URL": add each “Content creation” or “Translation” work separately to the spreadsheet and place the row “Total” under it.
The next work should be put in the same way.
Remember that the screenshot in your submission must contain only ONE work!
Write to the chat and tag @anesthesia_v to count the characters and check the level.
Keep in mind that each work with a Wiki URL is a separate submission with a corresponding message on the forum. Do not place several screenshots in one comment on the forum.
A correct example of submitting two works of one contestant, which can be taken as a sample: submission 1 and submission 2.
We strongly recommend you to send submissions with the type of work "Content creation” or “Translation" to #17 Wiki Renewal Contest until 23.02.2021 inclusive, as it defined by the contest rules.
This point is optional, however, failure to follow it may lead to “Reject”.
