Contest: Airdrop Mechanics [Finished]

Thanks to the community - the vast majority of ideas already described, so I’ll try not to duplicate them, but to write something new. Also for easy reading I’ve tried to rely on structure of source goals of contest:

Sign-up D-o-D and Signup TONCrystal + TONCrystalNews:
I see several UI options to achieve this:
- Web-site for sharing it in social networks, groups, public forums, etc.
- Chat bots for interaction/registration mechanics (already proposed here a good proposal, so no need to duplicate)
- Social networks pages - many Facebook and other adopters do like to follow the page or theme, so we need to register respective FreeTON pages for all local communities.
- Wallet software itself could contain the social sharing functionality! This is really important for promotion and referrals remuneration (see below).

Promote the use of FreeTON:
- Referral rewards programme, including antifraud referrals counting mechanics. Then any PR-activity also could be measured via referrals and so be rewarded.
- We (community) should write, publish and promote the “loveletter” telling people why Decentralisation is important. Personally I think that one very captive description of this was provided by Mr. P.Durov in his recent post on TON project cancellation. His words re 4% are still in my mind!

Safety and secured the bots:
- For security reasons it is better to bind people to have an account on any social site for age of 1 year or older. This could be Facebook, Linkedin, Github etc. The recent KeyBase airdrop used Github accounts to target developers auditory for airdrop of XLM tokens (50$).
- Here on forum was already proposed a mechanics to bind with user’s Telegram account and use the bot to basically interact with user. I do agree and support that proposal, so I won’t duplicate it.

Plan to cover 1b citizens:
- I think the referral programme should reward more for more referrals, for instance:
1t per 1 participant
1t per first referral
1/2t per second referral
1/3t per third referral
1/5t per fourth referral, and so on as per Fibonachi, as you can see
In sum it would be less than 4t per man.
- Don’t afraid of usage of social “referral” mechanics, because the essense of social relations have many in common with blockchain - the friends are linked just like the blockchain pieces, the relations are very common, so proving a block / writing the transaction could be seen as friending, so there is no hidden risks, just possibilities!

P.S. (You can skip this) Also I thought on several good options, but I do not know how to handle them securely:
- it would be great to reward each user for their first transaction;
- it would be great if KYC could be applied without storing that private data and getting rid of it right after KYC result is acquired. I thought about the community members which could collectively process KYC submissions, but not sure that many of us could really do so, and the problem of fraud (making fake documents) still exists I suppose.
- US citizens, if someone is very eager, then can take part by buying tokens when they eventually be available;
- gamification would be nice, but only if kids really understand DoD, which is unreal  so I think we better start with big ones

Thx for votes!

Open source means nothing to a user, who downloads .exe compiled by someone else.
It doesn’t guarantee that there will be no hidden malware.

Your “decentralized idena communitycan’t guarantee that one day .exe file that is located on idena’s site in “Download” section or directly on github won’t be infected. Open source means that you can look through a code, and compile it after making sure that it’s secure. But executing files, that wasn’t compiled by you - you CAN’T be sure that they are safe. Check by yourself.

And mass audience won’t compile it by itself. They’ll download an .exe. And no one will know what’s hidden there.

It’s better to distrbute tokens to 900 million people and 100 million bots, than to distribute it to 3 thousand idena-crypto-fans (but real people).
Why do pepole care so much about bots, but don’t about people?
Just accept that bots are an integral part of any mass distribution. And accept that some % of tokens will be abused. Main task is to minimize that % by making abusing process more expensive for bot owners. SIM’s+Captcha solving = it costs, and we can add even more to this cost by adding additional features.

I’m confused by the statements of some participants as “everyone should get the same amount of tokens”. Guys, don’t be naive. We are not building a communism. There will always be bad guys who are smarter, who will abuse much more coins than others. It’s just how the life works.

Of course i do.

P.S. I don’t want to clog this topic with conflicts or disputes, so if someone don’t agree with me - please, reply with a reasoned criticism, not emotional impulses in defense of your favorite project.
Peace .

Friends, I already wrote about my version of the conditions for obtaining coins.
But, now I came up with another idea:
Well, let’s say an airdrop with tasks is performed on the site, or in the application (only non-primitive Google forms, and not bots)
Social networks are attached, tasks are performed.
It’s possible to install an extension in the browser (which also monitors browser activity - this is a slightly controversial decision, but such an option will weed out bots, though ordinary users may suffer) Then the application should also monitor activity (which is not an emulator, but a normal user device - and if one of the parameters is active, then the user is real. If the device and browser are inactive, then this account is screened out as a bot)
Next social. networks, phone numbers (fraudsters easily bypass this, but this is an obstacle) -for verification. We need to bind, let’s say at least 4 or 5
Document verification is the stage that prevents the introduction of coins into the masses. Because not all users will want to pass verification. But this stage can well weed out scammers.
And most importantly: the process of obtaining …
No need to send all the coins at once. It is necessary that users receive coins in portions, collecting coins daily in the application. That is, 100 coins are issued per user - then you can make the user go into the application and receive a coin once a day. As an example. You can change the percentage of receipt. But be sure to enter the application daily. ALSO NEEDED TO SHOW THE TRANSACTION SPEED: well, let’s say in order to get 1 coin the user must make a transaction (any). Those. first for entry (10 days), then unlocking coins using any transaction per day (at least 0.0000001 coins). Like this.
That is, look. Example:
Let’s say an airdrop is performed. In the sense of held. People earned 100 coins. Someone more (referrals) Generosity is over. Distribution time.
But there is no spread. There is this: within a month, users go into the application and click the “get coins” button. Get (for example) 1 coin per day. After a month, there is a distribution of collected coins. The next month, you need to go into the application every day and make 1 transaction. After a month - again the distribution of earned coins. People who have referrals also come in and carry out the task - as long as it takes (even a year) Coins will come, but not immediately, and people will get used to using the application. Thank you, I’m waiting for a reward.
I apologize for the translation

Only I have a feeling that the adherents of “Idena” are doing planned PR action here?

1. I’m not discrediting openssource software, i’m discrediting the way it will be distributed to mass user (via .exe file).

2. This is our dispute in one picture:

I’m not sure that there will be any better alternatives, so it looks like the community should decide on what to focus: on audience coverage, or on bot’s absence. That’s the main issue.

Not sure what “audience coverage” you will get with the solution that will result in 100-to-1 if not 1000-to-1 Bot-to-Human ratio (or worse).

100 accounts will cost about 5 dollars
1000 accounts will cost about 50 dollars

Imagine what some group of coders can do with a bit of money on their side. What “audience coverage” you are talking about? You will just distrubute the tokens to thousands(or millions) fake accounts belonging to a couple of real people. This is the anti-decentralization in its finest form.

My concept is the following. Let us take advantage of gamification and augmented reality. The idea is to spread TON coins around the planet and then just allow everybody to gather it using an augmented reality game like Ingress and Pokémon Go.

As a result, we will observe an insane amount of people wandering around and collecting TON coins. That will be a new golden fever. All headlines around the world will be about TON. Such attention will bring new members and significantly increase the whole project value. Moreover, that will help people to improve their physical form after COVID-19 home isolation.

Overall, we will achieve:

  • Fair and diverse airdrop
  • Scam prevention, as it is much trickier to fake a moving smartphone with all its sensors and camera picture.
  • Marketing, a lot of attraction from ordinary people and press
  • Extreme simplicity, everyone can participate even those who have no idea about cryptocurrencies. What can be simpler, just walk and collect money
  • Huge userbase
  • Fast distribution and full control over airdrop speed.

Of course, the proposal requires a bit of work and it is not as easy as a simple referral program, but the outcome is promising.

PS This is just a concept. I am not aware of all technical difficulties and challenges as I am not an app developer, so I post it here for further discussion and clarification. Please, make your comments.

We will have to ban and delete all topics related to Idena from now on. You have made your proposal, don’t need to repeat and pump it. The Jury will decide on the airdrops mechanics, not the posts And likes on the forum. So please, one post is more than enough. Thank you!

Do you understand that 10 million bots will cost around 500,000$? And they can claim 4 TON’s each, that will be 40 million tokens. And whole amount is 4 billion. 1% of tokens for 500,000$?
I’m not sure that there is many people who will spend 500k$ even for 1%.

That messages was addressed to @offtopic .
Regarding question №4 - Third party is a man, who has acces to idena site and github. He can change the file at any moment he want. And if he will do it in active airdrop process - a lot of users can be infected. Your decentralization means nothing in terms when someone owns the channel of distribution.

That’s my last. Sorry.

I don’t think you quite understand how github and open source software works in general.

When is the TON airdrop happening peeps?

Unfortunately participants forgot what multi-accounts is free for existing click farms.

@Mitja Please prove what I’m not using fake-accounts.

Because new posts with I-word is banned - I’ll update my original post with more details a bit later.

ENG. I believe that the airdrop should bring popularity to the project, so the participants must make sure that they make efforts by advertising the project on such resources as twitter, facebook and other social networks as well as on cryptocurrency forums.
We need to think about how to restrain the airdrop participants from selling their coins, for example, introduce conditions for holding 80% of the received drop and give an increased drop to those who will support the project financially or with their work.
Be sure to think of a scheme to deal with multi-accounts otherwise there will be no success.

RUS.

(Google translate EN)
I think a good way is to issue a temporary token on Ethereum and distribute it to valid addresses.
There are several points, a landing page optimized for a certain key is created in advance, a blockchain is taken, its analysis is to identify suitable active addresses (for example, the presence of ether is more than 0.3, the presence of transactions over the past year). The following is the distribution of the token to these addresses, and the number of coins sent must be unique, for example 4.44444 tokens. Users who received tokens through search engines go to the landing page, which describes the exchange conditions and project prospects. Thus, you can attract approximately 200k active cryptocurrency users.

Ideally, it is desirable to have a working marketplace that uses cryptocurrency as payment (this is our goal, is not it?). Excluding illegal operations, manual moderation of announcements is necessary, and objects only allow the sale of real estate and cars. Marketplace can be in the form of a website or a bot in a telegram. Previously attracted people to the landing page should learn about the possibility of using the marketplace using cryptocurrency. Further growth of attracted users will be natural, without the use of additional motivational actions.

A lot of people promoting the idea of using Telegram as the main verification method. It has been my experience from doing many airdrops and bounties over the years that the area with the most fake and bot accounts is telegram. It is quite normal to see Telegram Bounties have over 95% of the accounts submitted being judged as fake. You may think that adding a cutoff date so you disqualify accounts created after the start of the contest eliminate this but there are people that control literally thousands of fake telegram accounts that they created years ago.

I think one of the best methods to eliminate fake identities is to use a well policed system that actively seeks out and eliminates fake accounts and also has a huge base of users of cryptocurrencies. That would be bitcointalk.org.

You could use a telegram bot to handle people signing up and completing the tasks but you could require that they add something to their bitcointalk identity to verify ownership.

Hello everyone!
There are certain nuances that cannot be overcome when creating a token distribution scheme. For example, one of the tasks sounds: «very important: establish protection against bots and fake accounts». The network itself is decentralized, it is very important to achieve anonymity of users. Under conditions of anonymity, it is impossible to exclude bots or fake accounts from the token distribution scheme. But they can be minimized to an insignificant level.
The scheme that I propose is based on the following basic principles:

  1. It is impossible to implement the distribution of tokens only through games or any other content that not all users use. It should be possible to use the network by absolutely all interested users to the fullest, no matter what their area of activity, level of education, knowledge.
  2. You cannot use another blockchain platform. The independence of the FreeTon network itself is lost.
  3. The project is tied to Telegram. Moreover, distribution is possible through the participation of other messengers with their invitation to Telegram.
  4. The most appropriate distribution scheme - a referral program with bonuses.

How is it possible to maximize the protection against bots and fake accounts, while maintaining the anonymity of network users? My opinion is that mandatory binding to Telegram user name, as well as the email specified in declaration of decentralization, is required.
How would this happen?! I propose the following scheme:

  1. A user installs a wallet on his device (personal computer, tablet, phone).
  2. In the wallet, a prerequisite for starting its use (receiving tokens, implementing a transaction), you must enter the username in Telegram and email address.
  3. Declaration of decentralization signed earlier on freeton.org also contains a Telegram username and email address.
  4. To activate the wallet, you must confirm that such a user has signed a declaration of decentralization.
  5. An email address will be sent to your wallet activation email. To confirm, the user needs to follow the link in the letter
  6. The username and e-mail specified in the wallet will find a match with the username and e-mail specified when signing declaration of decentralization. The user will confirm (clicking on the link in the email) the desire to activate the wallet. The wallet is activated.

What could be the problem? The following options:

  1. On one device multiple accounts are registered in Telegram with different usernames. A user can also have multiple email addresses. Several network users (one real, the rest are fake) are physically registered on one person. In any case, such cases will be (it is necessary to observe anonymity during decentralization), but their number will be minimized.
  2. An unscrupulous user can write off user names in groups in telegrams, activate a wallet on different devices. To exclude such a case, mandatory binding also to e-mail is required.

How will the distribution of tokens? According to the following scheme:

  1. Users who signed Declaration of Decentralization and activated the wallet are general referrals. The number of such users at the time of the beginning of the distribution of tokens can be no more than 8000 people (presumably). It is the data of 8000 users (their number is presumably) that will distribute tokens to society. Mandatory requirements for general referrals: signing of declaration of decentralization, wallet activation. After fulfilling these mandatory requirements, general referrals receive 2,000 tokens each (total will be used at this stage 16,000,000 tokens).
  2. After the general referrals receive tokens to the wallet, the referral link will be automatically activated. The general referral will distribute tokens to other users (who at the initial stage did not sign declaration of decentralization) in any way (which do not contradict the law). Before starting the distribution of tokens, it is necessary to make the signing of declaration impossible.
  3. The user who goes and registers using the link of the general referral will be the first level referral. Tokens will be automatically credited to their wallet (their quantity will be 4 times less than the reward of the general referral. The reward of the first level referral will be 500 tokens). The general referral will receive a reward for each first-level referral in the amount of 10% of the level of remuneration of the first-level referral’s remuneration (thus the additional remuneration of the general referral will be 50 tokens).
  4. The user who goes and registers using the link of the first level referral will be the second level referral. Tokens will be automatically credited to their wallet (their quantity will be 4 times less than the reward of the first level referral. The reward of the second level referral will be 125 tokens). The first level referral will receive a reward for each second level referral in the amount of 10% of the level of remuneration of the second level referral. The general referral will receive a reward for each reward of the first level referral in the amount of 10% of the reward level of the first level referral (thus, the additional reward of the first level referral will be 12.5 tokens, the reward of the general referral will be 1.25 tokens).
  5. This scheme will continue until the fifth level. The fifth level will be the last. This is justified by the number of users involved and the coin distribution scheme. It is assumed that each general referral can attract up to 20 first level referrals. A first level referral can attract up to 15 second level referrals. A second level referral can attract up to 10 third level referrals. A third level referral can attract up to 10 fourth level referrals. A fourth level referral can attract up to 3 fifth level referrals.
  6. The number of users who can register using the referral link can be limited to these figures (these figures can be distributed in another way).
  7. According to the scheme, the total number of network users will be 987 million people (excluding the number of validators). 4.9 billion tokens will be distributed (excluding rewards of validators).

Benefits of the scheme:

  1. Each user should not have special skills
  2. Each user can distribute tokens in any way convenient for him. No need to connect to third-party resources.
  3. An increase in the number of Telegram users.
I calculate the distribution of tokens according to the scheme on the Google resource: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1yJx2HdlINOdDOtu27yJ5zfwSSKRHPw7q

Thanks to all!

I have just been told that to be a member of the jury that chooses the airdrops proposals you have to be a validator. I wanted to lend my considerable expertise in airdrops and bounties to help the community select the best proposal but it seems that a democratic vote was held by validators that only they would judge the proposals. Seems people like me are wasting our time here.
